What we collect, and why

Enquiries. If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and the details of your enquiry. We use this only to respond to you and, if relevant, to take steps towards providing legal services you have asked about. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of cookies and similar storage to run the site and, with your consent, to show our reviews. See our cookies policy for the detail and to change your choice.

Reviews. With your consent we load a reviews widget from ReviewSolicitors. If you accept, ReviewSolicitors may set its own cookies and receive your IP address and similar technical data as the widget loads. We do not load it until you accept non-essential cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers that help us run the site and respond to you:

  • Vercel: hosts this website and runs the function that delivers your contact-form enquiry to us.
  • Microsoft: provides our email, through which we receive and reply to enquiries.
  • ReviewSolicitors: provides the reviews widget, loaded only with your consent.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

Where your data is processed

Our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. If you become a client, separate retention rules apply to your matter and we will tell you about them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong, or complete data that is incomplete;
  • ask us to delete data, or to restrict or object to how we use it; and
  • ask us to transfer certain data to you or another provider.

To exercise any of these, email info@nomalegal.co.uk. You can also withdraw your cookie consent at any time on the cookies page.

Complaints

If you are concerned about how we handle your personal data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
